Des nouvelles sélections pour « Kaddish! »…

Et ses premiers prix!

En mars, « Kaddish! » est présent sur la côte Ouest ET la côte Est américaine! D’abord en Pennsylvanie pour le Festival « College Town » (www.saveindiefilm.com) qui a lieu à l’Université de Penn State, puis dans le pays des vins en Californie, pour le festival « Silver Scream Fest » (www.silverscreamfest.com) qui a lieu à Santa Rosa. Et le film a également tout récemment gagné le prix du meilleur acteur et du meilleur réalisateur aux Independent Horror Movie Awards.

L’occasion de revenir sur le tournage qui a eu lieu il y a déjà 4 ans… (Et des poussières).

Pour un concours, grosse motivation : écriture, prépa, et tournage en deux semaines… La chance du débutant me permet de trouver les comédiens sans aucune problème. J’appelle Steve et Alexandre qui étaient tous les deux partants. Je trouve un passionné de vieille Renault qui collectionne les R17 et nous en loue une pour rien pour le weekend. (Normalement une voiture de collection ça coûte un bras) Je bricole une chorégraphie et j’appelle tous les potes pour venir la danser… Et voilà en un weekend c’était tourné, en 3 jours c’était monté… Et en trois semaine, top chrono, j’avais mon premier court-métrage… Bien sûr, aujourd’hui, après les avoirs fait patienter jusqu’à 5h du mat, en costume et maquillés, me potes ne me parlent plus trop… 🙂

Blague à part, ça a vraiment été une première expérience merveilleuse et révélatrice. Et sans ce film je chercherais encore où je vais et ce que je compte faire. Aujourd’hui je sais. Et c’est grâce à ce film. Je suis vraiment ravie qu’il fasse un petit tour des Etats-Unis, qu’il fasse rire loin d’ici, et qu’il gagne ses premiers prix. C’est une belle vie de film et je n’aurais jamais pensé qu’après tout ce temps il continue à voyager… !

Alors en espérant que ça continue, qu’il fasse rire et frissonner encore un peu.. J’essaie de vous préparer un nouveau film qui vous fasse autant d’effet!

And the film has also recently won an award for Best Actor and Best Director at the Independent Horror Movie Awards.

On the occasion I would like to go back 4 years (or so) ago, back on the set. 

For a contest, big warm up. I had few days but I decided to go for it anyway : writing, preparing and shooting in two weeks.  Beginer’s luck helped me find the actors easy. I called Steve and Alexandre and they both agreed straight away.  I found an old car collector who rent us an old Renault R17 for nothnig for the weekend. (Normally a car like that should cost you an arm).  I arranged a choreography and I called all my friends to dance it. And that’s it. In a weekend it was shot. In three days it was edited… And in three weeks I had my first short film…  Of course, now that I have made them wait until 5 in the morning, all dressed up and with the make up on, my friends don’t talk to me anymore… 🙂

No joke, it really has been a first amazing experience and truly a revelation for me. And without that expérience I still would be wondering where I am heading and what I’m gonna do.  Today I know, thanks to this film.

I am truly delighted that it is still going on tour for a little while in the USA, that it makes people laugh, far from here, and that it’s winning it first awards. It a nice life for a film and I would never have thought that after all this time it would still travel… ! So hoping that it will make you laugh and shiver a little more…  I am trying to prepare you a new one that makes you feel the same!
